On January 13, 2025, the third meeting of the border agencies of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran was held at the Artyk customs post located on the Turkmen-Iranian border. From the Turkmen side, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan,  Customs, Border and Migration Services, the Turkmenavtouglary and Turkmendemiryollary agencies, and from the Iranian side, the governor of the city of Dargaz, the head and staff of the Lotfabad customs post, the head and staff of the Border checkpoint and Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan.

The meeting participants discussed issues related to increasing the capacity and working hours of the Artyk and Lotfabad checkpoints. Cooperation in the field of preventing the illegal movement of goods across customs borders became a separate topic on the agenda. In this regard, issues of unifying approaches to customs control at checkpoints were discussed.
