Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in our country to take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse.

Warmly welcoming the head of the Turkmen state and expressing sincere gratitude for the cordial welcome, President Rustam Minnikhanov conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan cordial greetings and congratulations from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who addressed the wishes of well-being to all the Turkmen people. Thanking for the constant attention to the issues of Turkmen-Tatarstan relations, the guest stressed that he was very glad to have the opportunity to visit fraternal Turkmenistan again.

Thanking the guest for the kind words, the head of Turkmenistan addressed the return greetings and best wishes to the President of the Russian Federation and noted the stable level of bilateral relations.

Taking this opportunity, President Rustam Minnikhanov once again congratulated the head of Turkmenistan on his convincing victory in the elections and wished him success in his large-scale work at the highest state post, noting that he was sincerely glad to take part in large-scale celebrations that testify to the enduring glory of the "heavenly" horses - invaluable heritage of the nation and world civilization.

The head of Turkmenistan stressed that the expansion of cooperation with Russia, its regions and leading industrial centers is among the key vectors of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan. This confirms the commitment of our country to the comprehensive strengthening of the traditionally trusting and fruitful dialogue with the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, with which Turkmenistan has long-standing economic and cultural relations.

During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on the current state and priorities for further fruitful cooperation, which has great prospects, taking into account the existing interest, supported by an impressive potential and extensive experience of many years of joint work in the implementation of a number of large-scale projects.

Thus, a worthy example of this is the mutually beneficial cooperation of Turkmenistan with the largest companies of Tatarstan - PJSC KamAZ and Tatneft, the Kazan Helicopter Plant, etc.

Speaking about the interest of the business circles of Tatarstan in expanding their presence in the promising Turkmen market, President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the favorable investment climate created in the country and the high international prestige of Turkmenistan as a reliable partner strictly following its obligations served this purpose.

Among the priority vectors, the fuel and energy complex, the transport and communications sector, the trade and economic sphere, agriculture, the field of high science-intensive technologies, and the strengthening of bilateral contacts through business and entrepreneurial structures were identified. There is also great potential for bilateral partnership in machine building, energy, oil refining and gas chemical industries.

Favorable prospects for interaction are opening up in connection with the comprehensive reforms being implemented in Turkmenistan aimed at industrializing the national economy, fundamentally modernizing the relevant infrastructure, creating new high-tech industries focused on producing a wide range of high-quality competitive products.

Noting that in recent years Tatarstan has accumulated impressive experience in the development and implementation of digital technologies, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that Turkmenistan is interested in using the advanced experience of Tatarstan in the field of modern technologies.

As stated, in the light of the development of trade and economic relations, an important role is given to the activities of the Turkmen-Tatarstan working group on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, which monitors the entire spectrum of bilateral contacts.

During the meeting, the head of Tatarstan focused on the national heritage and pride of the Turkmen people - the Turkmen Alabai, one of the most popular dog breeds in the world, which has preserved its original appearance, peculiar features, character and devotion to the owner to this day. In this regard, the guest told the President of Turkmenistan about how Alabai Ak Dost lives in Tatarstan, who was donated by Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Highly appreciating the solid level of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years, the head of state stressed that our country considers Tatarstan a reliable and promising partner.

In this regard, noting the importance of the participation of the head of Tatarstan in the celebrations on the occasion of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that this visit would be another step in strengthening the Turkmen-Tatarstan friendship and cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation exchanged mutual good wishes, confirming the inviolability of traditionally friendly bilateral ties, addressing the wishes of peace, happiness and prosperity to the fraternal Turkmen and Tatar peoples.
