On May 27, 2022, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan held an online working meeting with employees of the Federal Customs Service (Russian Federation), the purpose of which was to familiarize the Federal Customs Service of Russia with the Portal Seaport software package.
The meeting was attended by employees of the Central Office of the State Customs Service, the head of the customs post "Turkmenbashi" at the checkpoint of the International Seaport, the director of the International Seaport "Turkmenbashi", as well as representatives of Turkmen companies involved in the digitalization of customs procedures.
During the meeting, representatives of the Federal Customs Service of Russia presented detailed information about the Sea Port Portal software package, the prerequisites for the development of this system, the benefits of using it, etc.
As reported, the start of the project for the implementation of the Seaport Portal software complex in the customs authorities was given in 2016 in accordance with the order of the Federal Customs Service of Russia. The integration of this system made it possible to eliminate the need to submit documents on paper, reduce the time for transactions at the sea checkpoint, minimize the need for stamps and marks of state bodies, and also reduce the burden on state bodies and the business community.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen customs officers thanked their colleagues from the Federal Customs Service of Russia for the detailed presentation of the Seaport Portal and expressed their hope for strengthening and developing cooperation between the services of the two countries.
