One of the priorities of the state policy is the creation of an extensive transport infrastructure that meets the requirements of the time as the most important factor in the successful development of the country. In an effort to fully realize the impressive potential in this area, our Fatherland is successfully implementing national programs for the comprehensive modernization of the material and technical base of all types of transport.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasizes at meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers, it is necessary to further fully and actively develop the multimodal logistics capabilities of our Motherland, create favorable and competitive conditions for international transport and transit traffic.
Together with foreign partners, major projects are being implemented to create a combined regional and interregional logistics system, the formation of interstate transit corridors connecting Central Asia and Europe, the Caspian, Black Sea and Baltic regions, the Middle and Near East, South and Southeast Asia.
Thus, in order to develop the road construction industry in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, modernize and increase the transport and transit potential of the country in accordance with the developed world technologies, form a modern system for the transportation of goods and passengers, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution, according to which the State Agency for Construction Management of highways, it was allowed to conclude a contract with “Altkom” Road Construction” Limited Liability Company (Ukraine) for the design and construction of a two-way two-lane road bridge across the Garabogaz Kol Bay along the Turkmenbashy–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border highway and supply roads.
The formation of interstate transit corridors aimed at the revival of the Great Silk Road, the connection of the Eurasian economic zones, are of great importance for access to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
The head of Turkmenistan has repeatedly focused on the need for a comprehensive and in-depth scientific study of the chemical reserves and natural features of the bay, the conduct of relevant work by domestic scientists together with specialized specialists.
Dozens of the most complex engineering structures are being built in the country, which are of great importance in the formation of a highly efficient transport infrastructure, which helps to strengthen the role of the Fatherland as an international crossroads of the most important trade routes of the continent. Among the projects being implemented in this area is the construction of ultra-modern bridges. Therefore, the world experience in bridge building is the subject of special attention of Arkadagly Serdar, who calls for the study and implementation of advanced developments in the transport and communication field.
In this regard, priority attention should be paid to the formation of a reliable system of environmental protection of the Caspian Sea, and new enterprises and industrial facilities being built in this region must fully meet environmental criteria and requirements.
Our country is pursuing a policy of “open doors” and good neighborliness, taking practical steps to form an extensive network of international transport and transit corridors, and the new bridge should become an important part of the multimodal system.
Taking consistent measures in this direction, Turkmenistan makes a significant contribution to the common efforts to develop mutually acceptable solutions to topical issues of the regional and global agenda, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
An example of the successful combination of efforts of the neighboring states is the construction of the transnational steel highway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran, which has become an integral part of the regional and international transport infrastructure.
The construction of multi-lane autobahns that meet international standards is being carried out at an accelerated pace, which will cross Turkmenistan in all directions, linking the north and south, east and west of the country with reliable transport corridors. Unremitting attention is paid to the development of rural roads, the modernization of the technical fleet of freight and passenger vehicles.
Ultimately, our transport arteries, whether they be roads or railways, air or sea routes, serve to create the socio-economic conditions necessary for the development of the national economy, the realization of its export potential, and the expansion of international relations.
The large-scale work launched in the country in order to improve the transport sector is another clear evidence that caring for people and improving their well-being are among the priorities of the socially oriented policy pursued under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state.
