Formation of an integrated customs information system of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan

    The project agreement on technical cooperation for the implementation of an integrated customs information system «ASYCUDA World» between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) was signed and entered into force.

    The conclusion of this agreement was done thanks to the support of our Esteemed President to strengthen the material-technical base of the State Customs Service and the creation of a unified automated information system of customs authorities.

    The integrated automation of Customs procedures will help to increase the efficiency of fiscal and control functions of the SCS of Turkmenistan and to strengthen its operational capacity, including in combating smuggling, drag trafficking and other law infringements. The project will help to expand the transit potential of Turkmenistan and ensure the country's preparedness for the WTO accession in a future.

    UNCTAD ASYCUDA Programme for over 30 years provides technical assistance in modernizing customs administrations around the world in line with international standards and best practices.  UNCTAD's integrated customs management system - ASYCUDA has been successfully implemented in over 95 countries around the world.

    Currently the preliminary phases for the implementation of the project has launched.
