Yesterday, the metropolitan “Archabil” Hotel hosted the International Conference “Independent Turkmenistan in the international information space”, timed to coincide with the 31st anniversary of the country’s independence.
A special exhibition, which preceded the opening of the largest media forum, was also organized on this significant occasion.
The purpose of the conference, organized by the national mass media agencies jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is to widely highlight and popularize the grandiose achievements of the Turkmen state over the years of sovereign development, as well as to deepen the established fruitful cooperation with foreign partners through the media.
In addition to the heads and employees of the State News Agency (TDH), the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, domestic editorial offices of newspapers and magazines, journalists of foreign media, as well as students of the journalism faculties of higher educational institutions in our country attended the international forum, held in Turkmen, Russian and English.
It should be noted that the participation of students studying related subjects, on whom the future of domestic journalism directly depends, in such events is expected to improve their professional skills, which is one of the basic objectives of the reforms and strategies in the field of national education, being consistently carried out under the leadership of the head of state.
Great interest of the audience was provoked by the review that was presented at the beginning of the forum on the progressive policy being successfully pursued in the period of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, where the most important priority is mutually beneficial cooperation with the international community on topical issues.
Foreign participants, including the heads and representatives of leading news agencies, popular electronic publications, television and radio companies, reputable international organizations and agencies, informed in their video presentations on their vision of the growing positive position of Independent Neutral Turkmenistan among the world community, as well as in the international information space.

Having very clearly outlined the paramount goals such as the prosperity of the Turkmen state and the steady increase in its people’s wellbeing, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is implementing the major objectives of progressive socio-economic reforms and democratic transformations.
Significant events taking place day after day in the socio-political, economic, cultural and sports areas of the country increase the power of Independent Neutral Turkmenistan.
An important aspect of the foreign policy being pursued by Turkmenistan is the contribution to international efforts aimed at achieving universal sustainable development, the promotion of time-demanded initiatives to address topical issues on the global agenda.
In short, the ongoing large-scale work has secured Turkmenistan’s leading positions in many key indicators of growth, and has been highly appreciated and broadly recognized in the international arena.
Due to the active work of the domestic media, covering in detail and promptly the most important events in state life and the international economic, investment, oil and gas forums, scientific and cultural events held in the country, the world is rediscovering Turkmenistan, a state with a huge economic potential, rich culture and carefully preserved unique spiritual heritage.
Thanks to the developed regulatory and legal framework, active work is well under way in accordance with the Concept for Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan in 2019-2025, to integrate the digital system into all areas of the state and society, including the media. New tools, models and technologies are actively introduced into this process.
Due to the use of high-speed digital technologies, electronic facilities were adopted in the national media, operating directly with domestic software, electronic services and other digital products that are not inferior to foreign counterparts in terms of their operating qualities.
In this regard, foreign participants pointed out that thanks to the support from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, specialists in the field of both press and electronic media are actively using high digital technologies.
Representatives of foreign media expressed their readiness for further development and deepening of creative cooperation with their Turkmen partners, emphasizing that where there is mutual friendship and kind relations, there is always the opportunity to exchange objective information and get reliable first-hand news.
Thus, the current international media forum once again showed the commitment of Turkmenistan to strengthening peace and stability, promoting universal social and economic prosperity, as well as to further increasing mutually beneficial ties with all interested countries on the planet.
