MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING among the Government of Turkmenistan, the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the Establishment of the Joint Consultative Commission on Customs Cooperation was signed on the results of the first summit of the Heads of State of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey held at the Congress Center in the national tourism zone "Avaza" on December 14, 2022.  MoU was signed by the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, Maksat Hudaykulyev, the Minister of Trade of Turkey, Mehmet Mus, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.

The Joint Consultative Commission will be aimed to simplify and facilitate customs formalities for the movement of goods between the states of the Parties, information exchange, to develop improved methods and techniques for cargo processing, as well as to promote collaboration between Customs and Transport Administrations with a view to obtaining tangible results on trade facilitation.

Considering that the simplification of customs procedures and cooperation and mutual assistance in the field of customs have a positive effect on the country's economic development, we would like to note that this year, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has signed eight international documents with the customs authorities of several countries related to customs cooperation.
