This seminar took place on December 6-10, 2022 and was organized by the Regional Office for Central Asia of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
The participants of the seminar were members of the Port Control Groups of the International Customs Terminal, the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi, the customs post Farap Avtoyollary, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan. UNODC and WCO experts acted as instructors.
During five days, the participants of the seminar studied modern customs control methods used in relation to strategic goods, as well as gained new knowledge and strengthened their skills in the field of export control.
Strategic goods are certain types of goods, the export of which is controlled, restricted (licensed) and even prohibited in order to prevent damage to the national security and economy of the country.
