On March 10, 2023, a meeting was held at the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan within the framework of the visit to Turkmenistan of a delegation headed by Ms. Fesilitas Zik, Head of the regional project "Digitalization of TIR operations in the Central Asian transit corridors to strengthen regional cooperation and trade" of the German Society for International cooperation.

The heads of the service received the delegation and discussed the steps to be taken by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan to switch to a digital system, to switch to an electronic-digital form of the goods-vehicle system used in international road transport. , to simplify the operations of transit and bilateral international road transport through the territory of Turkmenistan, in international road transport. An exchange of views took place on the tasks related to the digitization of the TIR book and the provision of advance information on goods, as well as the tasks to be performed in the field of trade facilitation.

Also during the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation and development of the digital system.
