The delegation headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in the Multilateral Meeting of the Heads of Customs Services on the Project to Facilitate the Transit Customs Procedure along the Trans-Caspian International Middle East-West Corridor using the “One Stop Shop” principle, which was held on March 14-15, 2023 in Baku city, Republic of Azerbaijan.

The role of customs transit in international trade, the attractiveness of the Trans-Caspian International Middle East-West Corridor and its significance for the region, The introduction of transit facilitation mechanisms, such as e-TIR, eCMR, ePermit are the main topics, that were discussed during the meeting.

Following the meeting, the Parties discussed and adopted an ACTION PLAN for the development and application of facilitated transit in the Trans-Caspian International Middle East-West Corridor using the One Stop Shop principle.

The multilateral meeting dedicated to the issue of facilitating transit customs procedures by using the Single Window system in the direction of Trans-Caspian crossings was held within the Samarkand Declaration of the 9th Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, adopted on November 11, 2022, at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side. Turkmenistan acts as an observer of this organization.
