President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in Tajikistan on a state visit, held talks in Dushanbe with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
During the meeting in a narrow format and in an expanded format with the participation of government delegations, the heads of state discussed the development of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The parties paid special attention to expanding cooperation in the economic field. Energy, industry, transport, communications and agriculture were named among the priorities here.
The heads of state also considered issues of developing partnerships in the field of private entrepreneurship. In particular, the parties noted the need to establish direct contacts between the business structures of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
As a result of the Turkmen-Tajik talks at the highest level, it is planned to sign a package of bilateral documents designed to give impetus to the expansion of cooperation between the two states in key areas.
