On September 26, 2023, a meeting between the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization, Mr. Kunio Mikuriya, who arrived on a visit to Ashgabat was held at the Central office of Turkmen Customs.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman M.Hudaykulyyev welcomed the distinguished guest and thanked him for accepting the invitation to visit Turkmenistan to participate in the ceremonial events marking the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan. In turn, Mr. Kunio Mikuriya congratulated the staff of the State Customs Service on the 32nd anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s accession to the World Customs Organization.
Continuing the conversation, having exchanged views on the achieved level of interaction between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the World Customs Organization, the parties noted the positive development of bilateral cooperation. Over the past two years, Turkmenistan has become members of 4 customs conventions. The participation of the customs officer from Turkmenistan in the Career Development Program of the World Customs Organization for 2023-2024 was also noted with satisfaction.
Then, visiting the Central Office of the State Customs Service, the Secretary General got acquainted with the work of the customs service, inspected the building, office premises, and library. In the situation center, located on the first floor of the building, a video about the activities being carried out was presented to the distinguished guest on a large monitor.
After visiting the museum room, where the entire history of the formation and development of the customs service of Turkmenistan was collected, Mr. Kunio Mikuriya left an entry in the memorial book for the honored guests.
