From 7 to 9 February 2024, as part of a three-day seminar held by the Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), a presentation of the Turkmen Customs mobile app`s pilot version was held. This software is intended for a wide range of people, from customs officers to entrepreneurs, passengers crossing the border, foreign guests, etc.

A representative of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, speaking at the opening of the seminar, noted that the mobile version of the website provides quick access to information, which is preferred by more and more people. In this regard, it was decided to develop a mobile application that would fully include information from the site and also offer additional functions.

The application was developed by national IT specialists of the business entity “Asman Oky” as part of the implementation of the Action Plan for “Increasing public awareness of customs procedures through the widespread use of IT solutions in border regions” of Component 4 of the BOMCA 10 Program in Turkmenistan.

The presentation was attended by a working group of representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, Ms. Ekaterina Belukova, project manager, head of Component 4 of the BOMCA 10 Program, Rustam Berdiev, national coordinator of BOMCA 10 in Turkmenistan, Selimmuhammet Ashirov, national assistant of BOMCA 10 in Turkmenistan.

The speakers for three days were Aigul Bolotova, an expert in communication, PR and interaction with the media, and Irina Chistyakova, a media trainer, expert in communication and the development of emotional intelligence.

Using the occasion to start piloting the Mobile application, the participants of the interactive seminar also had the opportunity to improve their skills in effective communication for use in professional activities. In addition, a communication plan was developed for further promotion of the Mobile application.
