Meeting with experts of the World Customs Organization

On November 28-29, 2018, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting with an expert of the World Customs Organization, Mr. Dashgin Aliyev, and Head of the Regional Office for Capacity Building for the World Customs Organization Europe Region, Mr. Rogger Hermann.

Expressing their gratitude for the warm hospitality and organization of the meeting, Mr. Aliyev and Mr. Hermann informed about the activities of the World Customs Organization and the Regional Office for Capacity Building for the World Customs Organization Europe Region.

 The World Customs Organization is an intergovernmental international organization. The headquarters is located in Brussels, Belgium. The customs services of 182 countries are members of the WCO, including Turkmenistan became a member of the organization in 1993. WCO’s work is focused on the development of international instruments. The seminars organized by the WCO at the regional and national level are a good opportunity to exchange experience in the field of customs.

During the meeting, priority areas of cooperation were discussed, in particular, such areas as the study and learning of the WCO experience in improving the organization of customs control at the borders, and the accession of Turkmenistan to international conventions in the field of customs.

At the end of the meeting, the sides exchanged good wishes and expressed confidence in the further active continuation of the fruitful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the WCO.
