On March 14, 2024, employees of the Training Center under the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, led by the director, met online with the teaching staff of the Customs Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Institute) of the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting was organized within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of personnel training dated 2022.

On behalf of the Uzbek side, the meeting was attended by teachers from the Faculty of Retraining and Advanced Studies, the Department of Scientific Research and Training of Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel, as well as the International Relations Service of the Institute.

Teachers of the Institute spoke about the organization of the educational process for retraining and advanced training of customs officers of Uzbekistan, about scientific and educational activities, and shared their experience in harmonizing the Institute’s educational programs with the WCO PICARD professional standards. As noted in November 2021, it received a certificate of recognition of professional standards from the World Customs Organization (WCO) in accordance with the Partnership for Customs Academic Research and Development (PICARD) Program.

Sharing their experience, the employees of the Training Center in the field of training and advanced training of customs officers discussed the possibilities of cooperation for the development of scientific activities and the organization of online seminars on topics of interest for customs officers of Turkmenistan within the framework of the above-mentioned Memorandum.
