Turkmenistan – UN: cooperation for the benefit of children

According to the news article of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan on March 15, 2019 the roundtable discussion of a roadmap for implementation of the National Action Plan on the Rights of the Child for 2018-2022 was held at the UN Office in Ashgabat.

«This year, on the Convention on the Rights of the Child’s 30th anniversary, we can summarize our work done over this period and identify the most relevant and priority areas of partnership. A landmark result of this cooperation was the approval by the President of Turkmenistan of the National Action Plan for the realization of children's rights, which meets both the country's national interests and the global Sustainable Development Goals,» Ms. Shaheen Nilofer, head of the UNICEF office in Turkmenistan, said in her speech.

During the «round table», the participants discussed the development of the Roadmap for implementation of the National Action Plan on the Rights of the Child for 2018-2022 in Turkmenistan, the methods for its implementation, the collection and analysis of information, and also presented possible options for practical solutions to current problems in this sphere.
