On September 12, 2024, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan M.Hudaykulyyev and the newly appointed Regional Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for Central Asia, Mr. Oliver Stolpe.

The Chairman congratulated Oliver Stolpe on his appointment as UNODC Regional Representative and expressed confidence that his experience and professionalism will contribute to the further effective development of the cooperation established between Turkmenistan and UNODC. Then, he informed on the successful cooperation with UNODC, in particular within the framework of the UNODC-WCO Global Container Control Programme (CCP). UNODC's efforts to enhance the capacity of the customs authorities of Turkmenistan were noted with gratitude.

In turn, Mr. Oliver Stolpe thanked the Chairman for the meeting provided and expressed gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan and the State Customs Service for assistance in organizing the 9th Interregional Meeting of Heads of Customs Services held in Ashgabat on June 11-12, 2024 within the framework of the specified program.

Afterward, the parties also considered priority areas of future cooperation.
