As part of the program for the development of customs authorities of Turkmenistan for 2022-2028, in order to develop transit corridors passing through the territory of Turkmenistan, the State Customs Service is consistently working to improve the infrastructure of border customs posts and digitalize customs procedures.
Taking into account the increase in the volume of transit cargo transportation through the Farap Avtoyollary customs post, located along several international transit routes, large-scale work was carried out to reconstruct it. The total area of the customs facility was increased from 5.2 hectares to 10 hectares. New inspection pits allow for the simultaneous customs inspection of 16 vehicles.
Previously, the throughput capacity of the Farap Avtoyollary customs post was 250 vehicles in both directions. After the reconstruction, the throughput was increased to 500 vehicles in each direction, which is 1,000 vehicles per day. As a result, the total throughput capacity of the customs post has doubled.
In addition, the reconstruction of the post also involves expanding the use of digital technologies in customs processes.
The servicemen of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan express their gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the conditions and support created.
