Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea visit the largest polymer plant in the region

On April 18, 2019, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in visited the largest industrial enterprise of the Caspian region - a polymer plant in the village of Kiyanly. This is reported by the State News Agency Turkmenistan.

This gas chemical complex was built by order of the State Concern “Türkmengaz” by LG International Corp and Hyundai Engineering (Republic of Korea) with the participation of TOYO Engineering Corporation (Japan).

Today this enterprise is one of the largest gas chemical plants in the world. In total, more than 120 Korean companies took part in the implementation of this project, including construction companies, manufacturers of materials and equipment. During the peak period of construction, 13 thousand people worked here.

The project, according to the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, was launched in November 2014 and completed at the end of September 2018. After successful operational tests, the polymer plant in Kiyanly was handed over to the customer - Türkmengaz State Concern. Currently, Hyundai Engineering provides consulting services to ensure reliable operation of the plant.

As the President of the Republic of Korea noted, after the establishment of diplomatic relations between our states, the gas chemical complex in Kiyanly became a mega-project in the field of energy production.
