According to data of customs statistics for the period of 2024 increased export from Turkmenistan, particularly agricultural products.

Particularly, it is noted that the volume of exported greenhouse tomatoes to foreign countries has increased significantly. The total volume of tomatoes exported abroad amounted to 149 thousand tons. This figure increased by almost 43 percent compared to 2022. In 2024, about 56% of the total tomatoes exported to the Russian Federation, about 28% to Kazakhstan, and over 11% to Kyrgyzstan.

In 2024, the commodity structure of Turkmenistan's exports was dominated by vegetables and melons and fruit products. Since the beginning of 2024, about 13 thousand tons of peas, about 6 thousand tons of onions, and about 4 thousand tons of fruits and grapes have been exported. Besides, large volumes of confectionery, packaged vegetables, melons and fruits, and soft drinks were exported to neighboring countries.

The priority of customs work in the current conditions from the point of view of business support remains the automation of customs procedures and increasing the efficiency of customs operations. It should be noted that since 2024, the mechanism of the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" has been launched and is currently functioning. All exporters can log in to the system and receive services electronically through the portal. Thus, the process of passing customs procedures will be accelerated, time costs will be reduced.
