On September 7, 2022, a regular meeting of the Interagency Working Group on coordinating the operation of the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" system was held at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. Responsible representatives of relevant ministries, departments and social organizations, specialists from United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Project manager of "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" Project from United Nations Development Program (UNDP) took part at the meeting.
The head of the Interagency Working Group - the Deputy Minister of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan opened the meeting. In the opening remarks, he especially emphasized the goals of implementation of the “Single Window for Export-Import Operations” system, like creating favorable conditions for the development of the national economy and foreign trade of Turkmenistan.
In accordance with the agenda, customs officials, by paying special attention to reducing the number of documents required to obtain licenses, certificates and permits, made extensive presentations on improving the legal framework of state regulatory agencies, involved in “Single Window for Export-Import Operations” Project implementation. In the presentations, the technical aspects of the project were mentioned as well, such as electronic registration of documents in the system and technical support issues.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the main tasks related to the implementation of the decisions made at the 3rd meeting of the Interagency Commission, a question and answer session was held on this topic as well.
At the end of the meeting, the members of the Interagency Working Group expressed their readiness to work hard for successful fulfillment of the tasks set in the epoch of the sustainable development of the digital economy in the country through the introduction of innovative information technologies.
