From October 31 to November 2, 2023, of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Training Center officers took part in the Regional Consortium Workshop for the Heads of the Central Asian Border Guard and Customs Training Institutions which was held in Ashgabat.
The workshop was organized by the Regional Office of the EU-funded Border Management Program in Central Asia - Phase 10 (BOMCA 10), under the leadership of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The main goal of this regional workshop is to promote cooperation and exchange of experience between educational institutions in Central Asia on improving the efficiency of the training system, as well as the introduction of innovative methods in the educational process of customs and border agencies.
As part of the workshop, a lesson was held to develop the participants’ skills in the field of leadership and personnel management, and the participants also became familiar with the system of professional standards and shared their experience in using the system of motivation and performance assessment for teachers in Central Asia and the EU.
The Cooperation Plan, indicating specific topics and forms of implementation, as well as the draft Memorandum of Understanding of the Consortium were discussed. The cooperation plan includes topics such as electronic and distance learning, on-site training, study tours, teacher exchange between departments, etc.
On the second day, the seminar participants visited the State Border Institute of Turkmenistan. After getting acquainted with the work of the institute, the participants highly appreciated the modern technical equipment and innovative developments used by the institute’s teachers in the learning process
