From 24 to 30 August 2025, a representative of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, together with colleagues from the Turkmenistan Transport and Logistics Center, took part in a study visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. The event was organized within the framework of the Regional Project “Trade Facilitation in Central Asia” (TFCA), implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

The visit focused on studying Germany’s experience in logistics and supply chain management. The program included visits to leading companies. At Rhenus Group (Duisburg), participants learned about the implementation of AutoStore, Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), and the concept of the “warehouse of the future.” In addition, visits were made to DHL Innovation Center (Bonn), Duisburg Port, Pfenning Logistics, Emons company, BLG Logistics, and Am Zehnhoff-Söns, where modern practices in warehousing, multimodal logistics, and sustainable development were presented. Special attention was given to digitalization, automation of processes, and the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies.

Participation of Turkmenistan in this event provided an opportunity not only to study Germany’s advanced practices but also to strengthen cooperation with colleagues from Central Asian countries. The acquired knowledge will contribute to the modernization of national logistics infrastructure and the improvement of customs procedures.
