The meeting on the preliminary information exchange was held
On May 24, 2021, an online meeting was held between representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the project of the Technical Provisions, worked out due to the Memorandum of Understanding between the parties concerning the electronic exchange of customs data. During the meeting, the parties noted that within the framework of the Memorandum, there is a great opportunity for further strengthening effective customs cooperation through a preliminary exchange of customs datа between two countries.

The number of exported goods is increasing day by day.

State Customs Service of Turkmenistan strengthens regional customs cooperation
At the initiative of the Dear President of Turkmenistan, the country's foreign policy, based on the principles of peaceful and productive international relations, and friendly, good-neighborly and mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries and authoritative international organizations is always being successfully developed. One of the striking examples of this is the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the customs authorities of the countries of the region concerning the preliminary electronic exchange of customs data about goods and vehicles across the customs border of the country.

Turkmenistan is a leading iodine producer
Turkmenistan occupies one of the first places in the world in the extraction of iodine, which creates the appropriate prerequisites for the further development of the chemical industry with an export orientation. The western region of the country has large reserves of minerals - oil and gas, iodine and bromine. Within the framework of the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country for 2018-2024", it is envisaged to build new capacities on the basis of two operating chemical plants "Khazar" and "Balkanabat" of the State Concern "Turkmenhimiya".

The 2nd meeting of the Interdepartmental working group on coordination of the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" system
On April 23, 2021, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting of the Interdepartmental working group on coordination of the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" system. Responsible representatives from the relevant ministries and departments and the expert from UNCTAD attended the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, according to the agenda, the organizational issues of the units of the Interdepartmental working group on coordination of the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" system were considered. During the meeting, there were discussed issues related on improvement of export-import operations and the required reforms to the regulatory framework, information technology services and technical support of ministries and departments, participating in the Project document on the implementation of "Single Window" system.

This further increases the responsibility of the customs servicemen, develops modern and high-speed capabilities of customs operations. The multifaceted activities of the Dear President are becoming more and more fruitful in relation to the recognition of our country as a transit and logistics center for all types of transport. As Turkmenistan becomes a transport and logistics center in the region and on the continent, our country is strengthening its trade, economic and industrial positions.
