Parliamentarians of Turkmenistan and Denmark discuss the areas of cooperation

   On March 23, 2017 in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan a meeting was held with representatives of the delegation that arrived in the Turkmen capital, headed by Parliament Deputy of the Kingdom of Denmark, Chairman of the Danish Delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, Mr. Peter Juel Jensen.

   During the conversation the guests were provided brief information about the priorities of the domestic and foreign policies of neutral Turkmenistan. One of the topical issues of discussions was the legislative activities of the Mejlis to support the reform programs aimed at progressive socio-economic progress, and improving the people’s welfare. The productivity of links with reputable organizations, including the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, was also pointed out.

   Having informed on the structure and activity of the Parliament of the Kingdom of  Denmark, the head of guest delegation noted the potential for development of fruitful partnership between the parliamentarians of the two friendly countries. Willingness was expressed to establish closer contacts in order to exchange experience in law-making work.

   Within the framework of visit the guests were also received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the opportunities for intensifying Turkmen-Danish cooperation were discussed.
