Turkmen-Korean negotiation were held in Seoul

    On March 30, 2018, at the invitation of the Korean side, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, paid an official visit to Seoul, Republic of Korea.

    During the visit, negotiations were held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Ms. Kang Kyung-hwa. The sides considered the state of relations between two countries, noting the high dynamics of their development. The sides also discussed prospects for further strengthening of political relations, development of relations in the trade, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, opportunities for bilateral cooperation within the framework of international organizations. A wide exchange of views took place on current issues of international relations. During the meeting the Cooperation program for 2018-2020 between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea has been signed.

    Within the framework of the visit, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held also meetings with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Mr. Lee Nak-yon and with the Chairman of the Presidential Committee for Northern Economic Cooperation under the President of the Republic of Korea Mr. Song Young-gil. Also the meeting was held with Mr. Ban Ki-moon, former United Nations Secretary General, Chairman of the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens and Ms. Lee Ok Ryon, President of Korea-Central Asia Friendship Association.
