The International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs Procedures (Revised Kyoto Convention - RKC) entered into force for Turkmenistan on May 3, 2021

Turkmenistan acceded to the Revised Kyoto Convention. On February 3, 2021, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Belgium handed over the original of the Instrument of accession of Turkmenistan to the RKC to the World Customs Organization Secretary General, Mr. Kunio Mikuriya, who acts as the depositary of the Convention. Thus, Turkmenistan became the 126th Contracting Party to this Convention. The International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs Procedures was signed in Kyoto in 1973. In 1999, in Brussels, the World Customs Organization approved a new version of the convention.
